UDPAC Youth Festival Promotes Moderation in Baker Park
At the second annual UDPAC event in Baker Park teens enjoyed a battle of the bands with four groups performing. A sign urged teens to avoid alcohol saying Drink Lose Your Mind Lose Your Life. Volunteers say the festival showcases performances rather than dangers of substance abuse. Participants include 14 year old Anna Deleo from Ballenger Creek Middle School and 15 year old Erin Rubino from Frederick High School. Wayland band member Chris McCamy, 13, performed with the group.

Some say campaigns do not influence peers who attend to see bands, friends, or participate in the 5K run and mock car crash demonstration. Organizer Lynn Widdowson hopes broader outreach will grow the event into a spring Colorfest.
