General Grant was seen driving in New York yesterday, appearing well and brisk. He wore a heavy overcoat and silk scarf, walked unaided with a light cane, and waved to onlookers as a carriage carried him along Fifth Avenue. The outing lasted about thirty five minutes with his party following.

About a week ago James Barclay aged twenty three eloped with Joseph Myers wife of Montgomery in this county. They began housekeeping on Ann street. Myers later found them and attacked, wounding Barclay and mortally wounding his wife with a jack knife. Myers then cut his own throat and fell to the floor. Doctors tended all three. Barclay likely to recover while Myers and his wife are believed fatally injured.
