Frederick County delegates return part of pay raise
Five of six Frederick County members of the Maryland General Assembly plan to return all or part of their $2,000 pay raise. Delegates Anita Stup Tom Hattery and George Littrell return full or partial raises while Sen. Derr and Sen. Smelser choose to repay half. The six had seen salaries rise from $25,000 to $27,000 last January with a future $28,000 slated for 1992. Endorsed by the compensation commission, lawmakers await economic conditions before deciding on the extra $1,000 next year.

HUD funds four more homes for Frederick residents
A Frederick non profit, Community Living Inc, will open four additional single family homes for residents with developmental disabilities. HUD provides 686000 to purchase and renovate, plus 1700000 to cover maintenance over 40 years. Four homes join 21 existing houses to house 61 clients, with 80 staff and a 1.7 million annual budget.
