Indicted in Fort Worth for major oil fraud scheme
Ninety two promoters were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of using misrepresentation to defraud. The merged companies held over 7 million in cash and stock valued at 3136 million. U S District Attorney Weifer said the probe showed about 2 064 000 stockholders in the involved entities. State Policeman Lochner Dies of Injuries
William C Lochner of Mt Pleasant Maryland State Police died at Union Hospital Elkton from injuries in a chase of a speeding auto near Elkton. He was 21 years 11 months and 6 days old. Funeral arrangements by K G Putman. Survived by his parents Lewis F and Mrs Lochner and one sister Beulah Lochner. He had served about nine months and was well liked. His body to be brought home this evening.

Death in a gas filled room shocks Baltimore family
Clarence Shriver 59, director of the Baltimore and Philadelphia Steamboat Company, was found dead Thursday night in a gas filled room at his Calvert Street home. Relatives say death may have been accidental. he had been under great nervous strain due to illness in family. He had recently traveled from Frederick and was visiting his daughter in Baltimore. The scene showed a gas jet hose had been pulled loose, the room smelling of gas. Funeral arrangements were announced for the Baltimore memorial chapel.
