Mayor and Board Hear Uses for City Opera House
The Mayors and Aldermen held their regular meeting as a committee from the G.A. asked to use the City Opera House on May 30, contingent on conflict with the manager. Rev. C. W Stinespring sought confirmation that the General Conference arrangements would stand. The board discussed abolishing the office of street superintendent and that two policemen would oversee during working hours in absence of the committee. A special meeting was set for Monday to act further, and the market report showed $77.50 in receipts from cattle, hay, stands, stalls, and market collections. Multiple bills were approved for payment. Board adjourned at 10.

Baltimore Presbytery elects commissioners amid critique
The spring meeting of the Baltimore Presbytery elected ministers and elders to the General Assembly, urged Rev Crary Branch as permanent clerk, and chose Catonsville as presbytery meeting site. A lengthy narrative lamented spiritual dearth and theater and gambling influences, yet noted strong mission activity and rising youth involvement. An objection over phrasing was debated and resolved.
