Maryland uses computer terminals to speed tax refunds
Maryland taxpayers will see faster state tax refunds with TV like IBM terminal systems. Auditors access a central computer from eight terminals to audit returns, correct errors, and reprocess data in minutes. Initial trials show refunds mailed by July and significant time savings over last year.
