Mobilization Advisory Board backs wage stabilization plan
The Mobilization Advisory Board voted 14 to 4 to urge the President to establish an 18 member Wage Stabilization Board to resolve major labor disputes since the first board’s Feb 16 walkout over a 10 percent ceiling. Labor walked out of defense agencies, while management resisted. The AFL’s George Meany and others proposed a board to handle disputes, with final decisions in cases where parties accept submission.
