Family man charged in Easter child abuse case
A Walkersville man, 42, was charged with child abuse reckless endangerment and assault after allegedly striking his nine year old son on Easter morning. The boy was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital for contusions and placed in protective custody along with his brother. The father posted bond.

Shooting suspect held on $500000 bond in Frederick
A New York City man, Troy G. Watts, 19, of Bronx, is held on 500000 bond in Frederick County for a shooting at Carver Apartments. Watts faces attempted first degree murder and other charges after Jamal Anthony Joseph, 28, of no fixed address, was wounded and taken to R Adams Cowley Trauma Center in Baltimore. Police note the incident appears drug related.
