Israel begins new West Bank settlement amid 242 tension
Tractors started clearing Neb Salah 16 miles northwest of Jerusalem for a settlement to house 40 families after a five week freeze on outpost construction. The plan, approved by the government, comes as Israel reaffirms support for UN 242 while keeping the West Bank issue vague and pursuing limited Palestinian autonomy with continued military presence.
