17 year old indicted for first degree murder in streets shooting
A 17 year old Washington resident Antonio Payton was indicted by a Frederick County Grand Jury on first degree murder and related charges for the Oct 7 shooting of Ricardo Cruz in the John Hanson apartments court yard. Cruz, a 19 year old merchant marine, died as he walked with his fiance and two children. Payton is detained without bail in Frederick County Adult Detention Center. The indictment also lists manslaughter and several gun related charges. Witnesses identified Payton as the triggerman after an altercation.
