Girl Hurt In Accident
An 11 year old Frederick girl Frances Louise Toms sustained a fractured jaw in a three car crash on West Patrick street early Sunday. She is in satisfactory condition at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Eugene Goins of Camp Detrick was turning into Baughman Lane when Wayne Lawson of Siamsville, driving east, struck Goins from behind. Lawson's car damaged a new sedan driven by John A. Martin of Hagerstown. The child was a passenger with Lawson and transported to the hospital by State Police ambulance. Officer Alton C. Twentey charged Lawson with reckless driving and Goins with failure to signal.

The 1935 Census of Agriculture reports five years of shifts in the county with fewer farms but larger average size. Farm land values nearly doubled from 1945 to 1950, while total farm numbers fell from 3,392 to 2,977. The average farm value rose from 7,796 to 14,017 dollars, and tractors rose from 1,550 to 2,552. Drunk Drivers Receive 90 Day Jail Sentences
Two weekend drunken driving arrestees were found guilty and sentenced by Magistrate Thomas S. Glass. Ernest A. Lubby of 13 East Sixth Street pleaded guilty to operating under the influence and no license, receiving a 90 day jail term on default of a $100 fine and a further day for the second charge.
