Fire department turns to male dancers for funds in Reisterstown
In Reisterstown Maryland the volunteer fire department seeks to raise about 125000 annually by staging regular professional male dancer shows at the fire station with tickets at 15 dollars and a buffet and open bar. The plan attracts opposition from local clergy who warn of moral decline while some residents defend using entertainment to fund emergency medical services. The first show is set for April 25 with potential extra revenue if the group gains church backing.

Paiute seek reservation land amid decades of dispossession
Salt Lake City report details the Paiute tribe’s fading numbers from about 20 000 to under 500 and its campaign to establish a federally recognized reservation in southern Utah. Officials debate forest service and BLM lands as potential homelands while leaders seek self sufficiency through coal mining potential and tribal services. The effort gains support from Orrin Hatch, Dan Marriott and the National Congress of American Indians.
