Local War Price Board denies knowledge of volunteers survey plan
Officials of the War Price and Rationing Board in Frederick say they know nothing about reports from the State Office of Price Administration that volunteer rationing workers would survey neighborhood stores to check compliance with price regulations. Leo H. McCormick announced the plan to have housewives report selling price violations and to check pork prices and ceilings. The move aims to curb black market activity and to brief wholesalers and dealers on meat rules while noting local complaints on ceilings have been few.
