Boy Kicked by Horse Near Derrwood
Ernest Eston eight years old son of Mr and Mrs Charley Eten of near Derrwood was kicked in the mouth by a horse Saturday afternoon. Four front teeth were knocked out and he was treated by a physician in Frederick. He was visiting his grandfather William Orme on a farm opposite Grove's lime kiln when the accident occurred. The boy remained conscious and was reported to be improving the following day.

OSU student dies from auto accident injuries
Francis Wetnight, 19, a sophomore in the Ohio State University College of Mechanical Engineering and Triangle Fraternity pledge, died at University Hospital Columbus after being struck by a car driven by Margaret Hiestand. The car lost control after hitting a dog and jumped the curb, hitting Wetnight as he stood near the curb. Funeral held in Springfield Tuesday afternoon. he was son of Elmer Wetnight and nephew of James Wetnight of Burkittsville.

Dr John R Winfield a Clarksburg physician was arrested in Middletown with his 13 year old son Jamon for driving a car without licenses. The father admitted drinking mildly and both were fined ten dollars plus costs by Justice Kefauger. They spent the night in Middletown before continuing to Washington.
