Plan revived to save beaches at Ocean City
Ocean City plans to restore its coastline with state funding covering one third of the cost after the Army Corps of Engineers dropped offshore sand pumping. Col. Davis given life in prison for waitress killing
Allegany County Circuit Court judge imposed life imprisonment on Charles W. Davis Jr. after a 14 hour trial jury found him guilty of the New Year’s Eve 1975 murder of Kathleen Diane Cook, luring her to a Baltimore County nightclub parking lot and firing four shots. Davis also received 15 years for a handgun violation, to run consecutively, while rape charges were dropped. He faces additional charges in the August 1976 death of Peggy Ellen Pumpian elsewhere along Interstate 95.

Smoke detectors credited with saving lives in Montgomery Co
