Thurmont Boy, 9, Killed in Traffic Crash
Sean Kelly Fitzgerald, nine, of Thurmont died after darting into U S 15 north of Thurmont and was hit by a car driven by Lester Harold Frank of Colts Neck New Jersey. He died at York Hospital after a 3 30 pm arrival. coroner said cause not yet determined. He was taken from Gettysburg to York due to lack of neuro specialists. Survived by his mother Mrs Dalene Fitzgerald two sisters Susan and Kathy Ann two brothers Brian Casey and Michael Allen. Rosary Wednesday 7 30 pm Creager Funeral Home Thurmont Requiem Mass Thursday 10 am Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church burial in church cemetery. Earlier incident on Md 77 east of Rocky Ridge involved Ignazio Cucchiara of Frederick who swerved to avoid a collie dog, ran off shoulder struck guard rails with damage about 500 dollars. another car driven by Paul Fair of Rocky Ridge damaged by debris. No charges.

Maryland House official critically hurt in wreck near Urbana
James Mause chief clerk of the Maryland House of Delegates was critically injured in a single car crash on I-70S, 3:45 am, south of Urbana. He and State Police Sgt John Blake were transported for care. Mause later moved to University Hospital Baltimore. Police say Blake may have fallen asleep. Mause not wearing a seat belt.
