Woodsboro Eyes 5-Cent Tax Hike For 1995 Budget

Woodsboro residents have 30 days to vote on a 5 cent property tax increase to raise about 6500 for fiscal year 1995. The plan, presented by Burgess Donald Trimmer and town commissioners, targets road repairs on Adams Street and Second Street and funds a 3 percent raise for two town workers. The 1995 budget totals 150000, up 6000 from 1994, with trash collection possibly higher due to county costs. The group also approved buying the nearby railroad station for 2575 to support a restoration by the Woodsboro historical trust society and volunteers are urged to help.
