Heavy sentences handed by Judge Peter in Rockville court
Judge Robert E. Peter in the Circuit Court at Rockville sentenced several prisoners at the current term. Elmer R. Carr of Clarendon Virginia received four years in the House of Correction for participating in a hold up and robbery of a Washington lawyer. David A. Way was given four years in the Maryland Penitentiary for two break ins and robberies at Takoma Park, and Elmer Budd was sentenced to four years for bigamy and perjury. Richard White was jailed one month for driving under the influence. Heng Lines of Jefferson remains confined to bed, and Paul Blank remains at Frederick City Hospital.

Negro Held For Theft Of Auto From City Yard
Webster Crawford colored, address 110 tve street, arrested by Special Deputy Henry Nusz at noon on charge of stealing a car from the yard of George F. Grove 24 West Patrick street. Grove reported the theft about 10, car found on Fourth street, Crawford admitted taking the vehicle. He was jailed pending hearing. Sheriff Albaugh recognized him as a previous House of Correction inmate in 1924.

Ludlow cashier kills self after admitting cash shortage
Thomas B. Halsly, cashier of the Warmara and Mechanics Bank in Ludlow, confessed a 30 000 to 40 000 shortage and shot himself in the bank basement. Bank records later showed a total 65 000 shortage. Halsly, a former Ludlow mayor, deeded his 75 000 estate to the bank in restitution. He was 50.
