Made a Bigamist by Law in New Jersey Court
Vice Chancellor Pitney said he would set aside a divorce secured by Howard Watkinson of this city from Adele Louise Chapman daughter of former State School Superintendent E C Chapman. Watkinson had remarried and lived in New York City at the time of the divorce, prompting claims of nonresidency and lack of protection in New Jersey courts. The chancellor ruled for the defendant on all points and Watkinson will appeal to the Court of Errors.

Convict’s Deadly Revenge Stabs Fellow Prisoner in Ohio Penitentiary
In an April incident at the Ohio penitentiary, prisoner George P Dun can stabbed fellow inmate Burelor Jim Anderson in the dining hall, claiming revenge for alleged betrayal. Anderson, wounded in the lung, later died. Duncan fled but was recaptured after a chase from Chillicothe to the prison.
