Retirement hobbies offer focus after long rail work
From Augusta Georgia Kenneth McNeill recounts 47 years on the railroad and his retirement plan of hobbies to stay active. He urges concentrating on varied pastimes like hunting fishing gardening and reading to maintain expertise and fulfillment after leaving the job. Mrs L Philip Newbaker of Garrison-on-Hudson adds music as a valued outlet. She notes her husband’s bass violin practice and weekly lessons bring satisfaction and social joy, arguing music provides mental stimulation beyond reading or listening.
