Hood College May Day to Honor 40th Anniversary in 1938
Hood College plans its annual May Day on the campus to mark the fortieth anniversary of its founding and Dr. Joseph Henry Apple’s presidency. Miss Eleazer Caswell is general chairman. The queen is kept secret until May Day morning when sophomores serenade 25 sisters for selection. The afternoon court will crown the queen and prince with dances and an Edna St. Vincent Millay interlude. A large roster of committee chairs, stage, programs and costumes are named for organizing the fete.
