A Ku Klux Klan cross was burned on Knights of Columbus grounds in Cincinnati while a community chest drive meeting dispersed. Police traced the fire but found no suspects.
Associated Press report. three of four men escaped Matteson State Hospital in rainy weather near Kenni Conn. were captured near Doughkeeps after a gunfight. The four men seized a revolver, assaulted guards and the institution chauffeur, and kidnapped two guards before releasing the three in control of the escapees.
