End of Control Brings Mixed Price Shifts Across Nation
An Associated Press 23 city survey on decontrol effects shows rises in cigarettes, coffee, gasoline, and bread amid stable clothing and meals. Meat prices have fallen, offsetting some grocery costs, with some items like cement and lamps climbing. Auto prices dropped at Chrysler, while others held or edged up as market forces adjust. Experts predict further volatility but potential stabilization as supply and demand realign.
