Development Of Farming Is His Subject

Benjamin B. Rosenstock told Lions Club members in the Francis Scott Key Hotel that Frederick County leads Maryland in agricultural output and farming efficiency. He traced farming from 1748 through canning, dairy, and milk marketing shifts, noting changing profits and the impact of postwar readjustment on debts and mortgages. He cited county strengths in corn, wheat, and dairy, and highlighted ownership and value per farm as evidence of economic health.

The army is about 500000 strong, with many units under-equipped for modern warfare. Stewart outlined the administration’s foreign aid request of 1.58 billion dollars for the year beginning July 1, noting ships planes tanks vehicles and arms delivered or pledged.
