Bus stop changes hit Linganore students during road work
Lake Linganore students faced altered bus routes after Edgewood Road closure for a water and sewer project. The contractor and Lake Linganore Association discussed detours, with morning and afternoon elementary runs adjusting while middle and high school buses used alternate stops. Rainy days may stall work and force regular routes. The unusual status of the roads, county versus private maintenance, prompted confusion and calls for clear responsibility.

City plans more downtown parking to ease crowded decks
Frederick officials unveiled a fiscal 2000 parking budget lower than this year by 66952 dollars. Parking superintendent Steve Johnson called for a new deck within two years as Court and Church Street structures sell out monthly spaces while Carroll Street fills to 62 percent. He cited revenue gains from weekend activity and nearby businesses as justification for expanding downtown parking and noted enginee rs must assess a Court House area site feasibility. The city already funds one deck design and May or two decks may be needed to meet growth.
