Gaithersburg residents oppose wedge corridor plan expansion
Montgomery County Planning Board heard Gaithersburg and Rockville officials condemn the preliminary Gaithersburg vicinity draft for rising nonresidential space and thousands of jobs within 2.7 square miles, warning it would spur corridor city growth, worsen traffic, strain infrastructure, and spill into neighboring jurisdictions. Residents cited annexation and high density at Washingtonian golf course as threats to low density, open space, and forest reserves, urging preservation and balanced development.
