County buys old Legion building in Frederick for school use
Frederick County purchases the American Legion building on East Church Street for about 150000 to house Board of Education offices and storage. Legion Post 11 plans a move to a new 10000 square foot facility after purchasing a five acre site for 180000 near Taney Avenue and Opossumtown Pike. The BoE will relocate finance, purchases, school food services and records to the new building when possession is transferred on March 6, 1981.
