One Fined Other Forfeits Collateral
Magistrate H Reese Shoemaker Jr overruled a plea of attritive ment by Edward Thomas Stone RFD 6 Frederick and fined him 15 dollars plus costs on a disorderly conduct charge. Officer Nathan Doises testified he found Stone and Glenn Calvin fighting near Middletown at South Market and South streets. The fracas ended when the officer broke it up as the men claimed they were merely arguing and had been attacked first. O Neal posted $2580 collateral which he forfeited after failing to appear in People’s Night Court. Stone said he was beset by O Neal and acted in self defense when ordered to move on. The magistrate questioned why Stone did not avoid the second confrontation.
