Frederick officer struck during alleged arrest near apartments
Frederick police say Officer William Burch encountered Matthew David Turner near John Anson Apartments at about 4:09 am. Turner allegedly resisted arrest after Burch detected crack cocaine and Turner allegedly struck the officer. Turner was charged with assault on a police officer resisting arrest and possession of cocaine.

State police investigate thefts in Maryland including a large tool haul from a Reels Mill Road barn on April 2. Stolen items valued around $3,000 include a Black & Decker mitre box chainsaws a reversing drill a belt sander wrenches a grinder a car battery a Bostian air nail gun and other tools.
