City, developers seek balance as plant capacity rises
City officials say the plant’s daily capacity will grow from 7 million gallons to 9 million, but shortages remain possible in the near term. Repairs on the leakiest manholes may start early next month, city engineer Mark Scire said. Aldermen also set a 25 mph limit on Shookstown Road from Rosemont to Montevue, reinstating the former speed limit after complaints. Left turns from Rosemont onto Shookstown remain prohibited. The golfing contract with First Golf Inc of Tempe was tabled to refine terms as the new course aims for a first nine holes by spring 1992 and full completion later that year.
