Frederick County 250th Anniversary Committee Seeks Sanctioned Gear
Frederick County officials heard plans for a county 250th anniversary in 1998 with a limited set of sanctioned products for sale. Committee chair Paul Gordon sought Frederick County companies to produce keychains mugs plates shirts and other memorabilia. Projections aim to raise 250000 by July 1 supported by sponsors and a commemorative booklet. A yearlong events schedule including a Stamp Act reenactment interfaith celebration and house tours is planned with no county funds. Donations are tax exempt and invitations to officials are planned for ceremonies.
