Of all nicotine taken in only ten percent is excreted, while the fate of the remaining ninety percent remains a mystery. Federation of America Societies for Experimental Biology heard two scientists discuss where the missing ninety percent goes. They suggest the rest is excreted in altered, unrecognizable chemical forms. Once identified, these changes may reveal more about nicotine’s effects on the human body.
