Maryland Conference debates church merger plans at Milford
The eighty sixth session of the Maryland Conference Methodist Protestant church, in Milford Delaware, declares 24 conferences cannot reassemble the adjourned General Conference. It refuses to participate if union with United Brethren is discussed but backs a new General Conference. A detailed paper by Dr. T. H. Lewis of Western Maryland College explains merger methods. A large Grace Reform class anniversary event for men is planned, with 500 attendees expected. Various church services and Holy Week observances are announced across Grace Reformed, Presbyterian, Evangelical Lutheran, All Saints Episcopal, and United Brethren churches, with schedules for sermons, confirmations, and choir events.
