Orphaned wildlife in MontCo benefit from formula recall
In Montgomery County orphaned wildlife will feed on recalled infant formula donated by the county health department to the humane society. FDA recall notices warned that Wyeth Laboratories SMA and Nursey formula lacked sufficient B6 vitamin for infants. Don Kreutzinger said the products, destined for destruction, will aid wildlife this spring.

MontCo school board rift widens with black community
Montgom ery County School Board member Blair Ewing accused the conservative majority of fueling a gulf with the black community since integration. Dr. Marian Greenblatt denied charges, saying relations with elected officials are generally constructive and minority discussions should be individual rather than group meetings. She cited housing, school closings, and boundary changes as reflections of patterns, not aim to police communities. Ewing urged board changes in November and accused officials of hostility. Greenblatt warned against inflaming tensions and emphasized dialogue and fiscal concerns.
