Legislature Close To Ending Oil Depletion Tax Break
Maryland faces passage of a bill to repeal the federal oil depletion allowance from state income taxes. The House approved 76 to 41 with a technical amendment sending the measure back to the Senate. Motorcyclist Dies After U S 40 Wreck
A 19 year old Frederick youth, Terry Anthony Wachter of Bowers Road, died at University Hospital in Baltimore after his westbound motorcycle collided with a car driven by 52 year old Mary Elizabeth Showers of Mt. Airy on U S 40 near Frederick County Shopping Center. Police say charges are pending a conference with the State's Attorney. Wachter was flown to the hospital by helicopter and died in surgery.
