Busy church program outlines Lenten and worship events

All Saints and Grace Church schedule Holy Communion sermons Lenten services and youth meetings. Grace Church lists midweek prayer, adult classes, confirmations and bicentennial pageant rehearsals. Other denominations including Trinity M E, Calvary M E, First Baptist, and various county churches detail Sunday schools, worships, and special services with dates and leaders.

Regional Church of God conferences to be held in Maryland

Rev. J. Apdegraph will lead regional conferences in Woodsboro Oak Hill Zittlestown Edgewood and Frederick starting April 3 with Parkway Church of God in Frederick hosting a revival series. The events promote evangelism missions Christian education youth and citizenship as part of the Church of God second century program.

District Luther League Banquet Set for May in City

The Mid dle District Luther League will hold its annual banquet in the city on May 2. The date was announced at a spring rally at St. Pauls Lutheran church Walkersville led by president Thomas Albaugh Taneytown. The rally drew about 300 members and visitors as state secretaries spoke on education mission life and service and outlined the new church year. A note of optimism ran through the meeting and most leagues have paid dues in full. Also planned is a W C T U rally service April 7 at New Market M E church with Grace Matheson as guest speaker. The piece ends with a brief historical line about the slave trade beginning in 1503 with the first shipment of Negroes to Santo Domingo.
