Canvassing Winners Named in Maryland Waterfowl Stamp Contest
The 1982-83 Maryland Migratory Waterfowl Stamp design by Roger Bucklin of Rockville won the annual contest held by the Department of Natural Resources. Bucklin, a Portland native living in Maryland 20 years, succeeds as first waterfowl stamp winner after competing since 1975. The entry depicts a lone canvasback duck in reed-fringed marsh waters and supports the $3 stamp proceeds for waterfowl propagation.
