Utility Sleeves Under I-70 Passed By Lawmakers
Frederick County wins a last minute bill directing the State Roads Commission to install utility sleeves in the I 70 roadbed to accommodate future water sewer and communications lines. The measure saves about 1.2 million by avoiding tunneling after construction and is to be funded by Frederick County. The SRC must cooperate with county officials on plans. Three additional bills by Del Byron were also approved, including changes to combat pay exclusions for Maryland residents.
