Freight Wreck Near Olyphant Delays Night Trains
A northbound extra freight drawn by engine 1878 wrecked one mile below Olyphant when an axle broke on a lumber car. Trucks left the track and the line torn for about 100 yards. F Schlitt and crews from here and Olyphant arrived by 1 20 p m and repaired the track by 3 40 a m delaying late night trains four to five hours.

Death of Martha Kimbrell Near City Farm
Martha Kimbrell aged 23 and seven years an adopted member of James Curtis family on the Jack Farlan farm five miles north of the city died suddenly Friday morning after a week of cotton picking and a night of nightmares. The family reports she suffered a night attack at about four o'clock. Her parents are deceased and her only connections reside in Searcy county. Burial was planned for Friday afternoon.
