Governor Grants Conditional Pardon for W R O Neal
Governor Parsons granted a conditional pardon to W R O Neal of Jackson county after a 1902 liquor law conviction, requiring no further illegal sale of liquor and a bond approved by the circuit clerk. The pardon was issued August 15 1902 with oath of non participation. O Neal and accomplices Mortenson and Watson faced fines of 100 plus costs in July 1902. Mortenson and Watson had prior pardons under the same conditions.

Trial Set in Newport for Tucker Robbery Case
Frank Perrow and Duke Perry are charged with assault and robbery of Bob Tucker and his mother Celia Tucker at their home five miles south of town on August 24. The case, postponed to Monday, then moved to Newport for trial, was to be heard in the court of Hsquire Shirley of Glaize township. Two masked men entered the Tucker home and beat Rob Tucker with gun butts and took $2.50 in change from Mrs. Tucker.
