Drowning Death Of Robert Pry On White River
Robert P Pry of Auvergne drowned Thursday afternoon while diving between two boats on White River about one mile above Grand Elize. His body had not been recovered by Friday noon as sand and river currents hinder dredging efforts. Fry, about 26, was swimming with Clyde Sandel and Will Chavey when he disappeared. Possible causes discussed include a cramp entanglement in anchor ropes or an alligator gar incident, though some doubt the gar theory. Local boats and pearlers aided in the search, with grappling attempts hampered by clear water absence of surface remains.
