In Pine Bluff on December 1, Rock Island vice president H A Parker surveyed timber belts and potential extension routes through southeast Arkansas. Officials consider Malvern or Benton as starting points with Thornton, Fordyce, Warren, or Crossett as targets. from a southern town the line would reach New Orleans. Warren leaders urged a formal proposal, meeting Parker before he continued north aboard his private car.

Death of Mrs Jennie Gallagher Guynn in Little Rock
William Guynn announced his wife Mrs Jennie Gallagher Guynn died after a ten week illness with typhoid fever. Burial was held Friday at Oakley Cemetery in Little Rock. The deceased lived here until two years ago and was a member of the Episcopal church.

Funeral of Mrs Ake in Little Rock
Mrs H B Ake died at 4 p m Wednesday at the family residence 1019 East Ninth street and her remains were taken to Marianna Thursday morning on the Choctaw for burial. Mr Ake and his two motherless daughters and one son, also her sister Mrs W D Newburn and her husband and Mr and Mrs Walter Cotter accompanied the remains to attend the funeral. Mrs Ake had been an invalid for the last year. They had lived in Dallas for a time and recently returned to Little Rock where she grew weaker until her death. Mr Ake is bookkeeper for Walter Cotter Co.

Historic farm sold near Chalmette on Arkansas river bottom
The Chalmette place of about 2,600 acres seven miles east of here, owned by J. B. Corcoran, sold today to Dr. J. B. Simmons for 850,000. Its history includes Senator Bob Johnson as the first owner, Col. Ben Johnson as a boy here, and it inspired Opie Read in Arkansas Planter with the frontispiece of the Johnson home.

Jefferson City Missouri December 20 The White River Railway Company of Arkansas has filed in the secretary of state office evidence of incorporation in the state with a capital of 5510000 of which 1365000 is to be used in Missouri Their line will extend from the state line to Carthage to connect with the Lexington and Southern divisions of the Missouri Pacific.

Young Arrested in Missouri for Selling Enlarged Pictures
Sheriff J. W. McFarland of Carruthersville wired Sheriff R. W. Bandy to arrest Tom Young who had been selling enlarged pictures in the county. A reward of 25 dollars had been offered. Young was arrested that evening and placed in jail.
