Two Local Women Die. Rites Planned in Jacksonport
Mrs. Savannah Jones, 67, died Monday at her daughter Sue Whitworth’s home in Searcy. Remains will be moved to Jacksonport for funeral in the old Methodist church with interment in Robinson graveyard. She was the widow of Dr. J. W. Jones, longtime Jacksonport physician. Also, Mrs. Lottie Gause Robertson, 68, died Monday afternoon at Judge J. W. Phillips’s home after a sudden illness following a cold. Born in New England, she taught school, lived in Jacksonport and Newport for forty years, and leaves three children in Newport.

Morrilton Aug 24 John Todd of this place was killed by a freight engine at Wagoner I T Thursday night. His body was brought here this afternoon for burial. He was a fireman on the freight train and his engine side tracked to let a passenger train pass. He lay down with his head on the end of a cross tee and fell asleep. It is supposed the noise of the approaching train awakened him as he raised partly Wasetrack. His parents live here.
