Rhode Island Senate approves 8.2 billion budget plan

Teacher not guilty of assaulting student in Portsmouth
Former Middletown High School gym teacher Patrick M. Aylward, 39, was found innocent of domestic assault against a 17-year-old student. Judge Colleen Hastings noted evidence of a relationship but prosecutors failed to prove the headbutt occurred in a pickup outside the Founders' Brook Motel in mid February.
