House Votes Arms Funds By 4101

The House passed a defense appropriations bill by 4101 votes sending the measure to the Senate. The amount, 347.082 billion, is the second largest peacetime military appropriation, with $18.136 billion the biggest program this year. Rep. Curtis opposed it over funding concerns. Newport Weekend Opera and Folk Concert Series

Newport Weekend lists performances at the Van Alen Auditorium. Jean Madeira opens July 12 at 4 pm, with Fosh Wille July 13.
