A former machinist at the Naval Torpedo Station he served in World War I, born March 12 1884 in Hope Valley. Survived by wife Mary Leonard Greene a son Benjamin Greene Jr three daughters Elizabeth Greene Newport a sister Anvern Crandall Ashaway a brother Louis Greene Westerly and three grandchildren. Private funeral at Hambly Funeral Home officiated by Rev Lockett F Ballard with burial in Island Cemetery.
