State trooper testified in Superior Court that Richard G. Anthony admitted shooting his grandmother, Elizabeth Gravatt, 73, of Jamestown. He said Anthony confessed after the murder and described placing a pillow on her face. The defense pleads not guilty. officers described the scene at her home and the alleged confession.

A Gloucester lobster dragger Lady of Fatima was disabled by a burned bearing amid the Castle Hill coast last night. The New Castle cutter Active towed her to Brenton Tower while a motor lifeboat from the Incal Coast Guard took over at 4 27 a m and towed the vessel to Aquidneck Lobster Go dock.
