A lightweight boxer Bor won a silver medal at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. As an amateur he won New England and national championships. As a professional he fought 120 bouts. He was a World War II veteran. He leaves his wife two daughters a sister four brothers and two grandchildren.

A Newport policeman was denied $40,000 in damages by a Superior Court jury after being accidentally shot while patrolling Easton’s Beach. The trial heard Patrolman Thomas F. Raffa and others observed a light through a shutter gap in a concession, and Ballew who slept inside the rotunda fired, wounding Raffa.
