Vietnamese Naval Officers Finish Diploma Training at OCS
Fifty six Vietnamese naval officer candidates received diplomas this morning at Officer Candidate School on the Naval Base. The 196 man battalion will make one more training stop before returning to Vietnam. Capt R L Scott presided as four company awards were given for athletic academic honor and military achievement. The program uses 38 US officers and 4 Vietnamese staff with English instruction. Next fall 750 officers are expected to graduate. The battalion's final stop is Treasure Island California for small boat handling before commissioning in Vietnam.
