Pair Injured In Two Accidents In Newport and Middletown
Two people were injured yesterday in separate crashes. James McKenna, 13, from Middletown, suffered a broken tailbone after being struck by Joan Smith, 22, of Newport, on Coddington Highway and Niagara Street. McKenna ran into the road. Gilbert Lawrence, 18, from Middletown, was knocked from his motorcycle at Poplar and Second Streets by Frank Campbell of Pleasantville, NJ, with cuts to arms and legs. Campbell reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign. Rodrigues, 19, Middletown, lost control on Valley Road but was not injured. his car damage is estimated at $1,000.
